London Fashion Week Day 1: Top Picks

My top picks from Day 1 of the
2012 London Fashion Week

By Fyodor Golan

I love the slim lines of the cut of the bodice as well as how symmetrical the pattern is. The low waist paired with the feather/fringe skirt plays homage to the flappers of the '20s. The contrast of both the color and style of the boots with this otherwise "soft" style dress is unique and memorable.

The short A-line leather skirt paired with the open knit top, tights and black leather booties take you back to the fashions of the 90s. I love the pairing of the leather with an otherwise open knit "soft" sweater. It has great contrast.

I love the clean, slim lines of this outfit. The contrast of the lacy top with the leather. My favorite part is the long waist leather jacket.

By Jean-Pierre Braganza

The color combination of the charcoal gray and blue is great. The accessories create an edge to the outfit that adds character and life. I completely love the

Top 5 Picks: Doo.ri Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

The inspiration for the Spring/Summer 2011 Collection of Doo.ri is the photos of Paolo Roversi.
They are very pale in appearance.

I love the slouchiness of his look paired with the short skirt.

I love how this dress was made with so that it added a lot to a simple dress.

I love the wrapped effect and the neckline of this look.

Great pairing of the cropped top with the unique sleeving and white pants.

I love the white on white and the simpleness of this outfit.

Top 5 Picks: Carlos Miele Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

Carlos Miele's collection for Spring/Summer 2011 gets it's inspiration from the fragility of butterflies in spring time as well as Pink Floyd's song "Another Brick in the Wall", the samba version. These are my top 5 picks from this season's collection.
I love this dress because it follows the curves of the body. This dress is eye catching and shows off your figure as well as your beautiful neck and shoulders. The spidery fabric and beautiful train make this a great choice for a formal this year!

This dress is a prime example of Carlos' inspiration this year. The pattern of this dress is very prominent throughout the show. To me the length is just right as well as the flowy and roominess of it, for a beautiful Spring day.

This color on this model is very eye catching. I love the flowy fabric as well as the cut of the hem. Just beautiful.

I am a sucker for cutouts! I love the lime color in this dress paired with the white. The bustier style straps that flow under the bust to me is always flattering but draws the eye to a place that lets a man know that she is a woman and isn't afraid of flaunting that fact. Great colors for spring.

The combination of these fabrics takes some getting used to. I love the colors and the use of the lines in this dress to flow down the body to accentuate the curves.

Top 5 Picks: Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

Burberry Prorsum's Spring/Summer 2011 Collection was inspired by Heritage Bikers (bikers from the early 1900s). It has a brassy and edgy look that is unusual for Burberry Prorsum who's collections are more "trench" driven.
I love the use of animal print on this dress, without the entire dress being made of it. This seems to be a very wearable dress for the everyday girl...at least those who aren't afraid of a bit of boldness.

They got there trench into the show and this one is my favorite. The green belt paired with the gray brown animal-inspired print is beautiful.

Talk about adding a bit of an edge to a frilly dress. The use of ruffles and folds on this dress makes for beautiful texture. The jacket is what adds the hard-don't mess with me feel to this outfit. Truly amazing pairing!

Love the color of this dress! I have to admit that that was the first thing that caught my eye. On second look I saw the Romanesque folds to this dress and I think it is beautiful. The added leather vest makes this outfit perfect for rocker-chic girls!

Beautiful dress as a whole! The color is beautiful. The design is beautiful. I love how the folds along the front flatter her while showing off her with the form fitting majority of the skirt but feminine lay to the flowy part that really made this look. Belting it definitely added the edge to be included with this collection! Love it!

Top 5 Picks: Betsy Johnson's Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

This collection by Betsy Johnson is said to be inspired by Central Park and New Years in Times Square.
You can really see that come across in the entire collection. It definitely has some elements and looks that I could see someone sitting down for a picnic date in Central Park. Also, fourth of July is represented as well as a sports element. Then on the other, New Years is well represented by golds and exciting outfits that would represent the ball, excitement, dressing to the nines and the fun of such an awesome time of year in New York.
I love the neckline of this look and how it brings your eye from a flattering part of a woman, the shoulders, to another flattering part of a woman her decolletage. It is feminine with a bit of an edge in the shoe and gloves.
I love the softness of the pattern and lay of the fabric in this look. The yellow also adds a sunny fun element. There is an edge to this look thorough the corset and different lengths of the hem.
Every girl needs a good trench. This is just too cute. The length goes great with the dresses of this collection.
I think the dress is the most adorable. It is very flirty with the ruffles of the skirt while the neckline is unique and adds a edge to the dress. I think this would be so cute with a pair of Converse!
How fun is this outfit! I could see this being a great cheer outfit! I love football so this just jumped out at me. I love the color orange, though I can't wear it, and the stripes and such make this outfit so much fun!

Top 5 Picks: Bebe Springs/Summer 2011 Collection

Bebe's inspiration was taking iconic French film star Brigitte Bardot's style and translating it to the style of 2011.

These are my top 5 picks from the Bebe Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.

I love this look because it is bohemian feel to it. I love the halter looks but the cover-up on the arms.
Again this has a bohemian feel to it but this one I love the off the shoulder and vest!
Very cute top. The one shoulder shirt paired with the hot pants with contracting warm colors.
Hot pants are awesome to show off legs with the off the shoulder shirt.
Hemline is beautiful at its different levels. The fact it goes up on one of the thighs with the pattern and lace detail. Just beautiful and one of my favorites.

Top 5 Picks: Donatella Versace Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

This collection was based on the "Opposites Attract" motto.

These are my top 5 overall wearable picks from the Versace Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.

I love this because of the hem line length as well as the color and silhouette. I also love the shoulder straps with the buttons. It is truly a unique dress.

I love the combination of pattern and khaki color. Also the shoulder straps are drawn across them. Overall unique and adorable.

I love this because of the hem line length as well as the color and silhouette. It is truly a unique dress as well.

I love the cut of this dress. The side cut outs add interesting detail to a black color while the pattern in the front adds color. Love this dress!
I was first drawn cause of the shoulder straps. Also the line of the dress and hem length. It seems to hug the curves of a woman. Beautiful
